HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Clayton Haswell, former managing director of the Associated Press for Asia and the Pacific, has been appointed president and CEO of Globe7 HK Limited, a global Internet, online advertising, and provider of hosting solutions.

"Haswell will be responsible for Globe7's operations in Asia, the U.S. and Europe," said Venkat S. Meenavilli, chairman and managing director of Northgate Technologies, which owns Globe7. He said Haswell will manage the launch of several of Globe7's Internet 2.0 websites, and will develop online advertising strategies with Axill.

A career journalist and media manager, Haswell served as chief editor of several newspapers and websites, and spent 16 years managing U.S. and international bureaus for the AP, the world's largest news agency. Before his assignment in Asia, he was responsible for all newspaper and digital business operations in 33 countries and established the AP's first Asia-based business operation.

Haswell is the founder and president of the World Free Press Institute, a non-profit organization training journalists and media managers in developing countries.
